Is a heat pump right for you?

Could you heat your business for less with heat pumps?

Given our climate here in Scotland, heating is not an optional extra in our workplaces. It’s critical for many months of the year to provide a comfortable environment for your customers and staff and to ensure that productivity levels are not affected by the time of year and the temperature outside.

While heating is essential, it is also a big expense. Indeed, for many Scottish organisations, heating can account for as much as half of total energy costs.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

There are big cost and carbon savings, and productivity benefits, to be had by retiring old heating systems before they finally cough and splutter to a costly end.

Now might just be the perfect time to upgrade…

The Scottish Government is currently providing financial support to help Scottish small and medium-sized businesses upgrade to modern, energy efficient heating systems. This includes unsecured interest-free loans and cashback grants of up to £20k while funds last.

In addition, making the change now during current COVID-19 restrictions could be a lot less disruptive to your business if your working patterns have changed.

And of course, with winter fast approaching making upgrades now could slash your heating bills this winter.

Is a heat pump your best option?

In this webinar, we will look at heat pumps.

Put simply, a heat pump is a device that takes heat from an external source, be it the outside air or the earth from the surrounding grounds, and does some clever stuff that makes it ready to use as heat in your business. They can even produce heat for your business when the temperature outside freezing.

The most common heat pumps are ground source, air source and water source, all of which use the same refrigerant technology to provide heat.

Heat pumps work can be a great choice in many different businesses – from factories to offices, shops to holiday parks, care homes to community halls. The key factors that determine if a heat pump is a feasible option, and which type of heat pump will be best, is more to do with the conditions on site.

  • Ground source heat pumps work best in businesses that have a reasonable area of outside space.
  • Water source heat pumps need a nearby water source, such as a loch or a river.
  • Air source heat pumps have no such restrictions and can be used in a wide variety of businesses.

Join this webinar to:

  • Learn how heat pumps work.
  • Understand the benefits it provides (financial, operational, carbon).
  • Know where it works well - and where it doesn’t.
  • Find out typical installation costs.
  • Hear from projects where it has already been applied and see if it is worth investigating further for your business.
