Insulation: cavity walls

The benefits of insulating cavity walls

Most homeowners are familiar with cavity wall insulation, but have you considered how important it is for your business premises as well? Buildings dating back to the 1920s were built with cavity walls, but it is only relatively recently that those cavities have been insulated as standard.

So, if you find you need an extra jumper during our Scottish winters and have big heating bills over the colder months, there is every chance all your lovely heat is escaping through the walls.

Proper insulation could help to lower your energy costs and make your premises more energy efficient. There is little point in having state-of-the-art heating if you’re losing all the heat.

It is possible to retrofit insulation and you can then enjoy the benefits of reduced heating costs; reduce the chances of mildew on walls; and give you and your staff a comfier atmosphere.

This webinar will explore the typical considerations when upgrading and retrofitting cavity wall buildings.

Now might just be the perfect time to upgrade…

The Scottish Government is currently providing financial support to help Scottish small and medium-sized businesses upgrade to modern, energy efficient heating systems. This includes unsecured interest-free loans and cashback grants of up to £20k while funds last.

In addition, making the change now during current COVID-19 restrictions could be a lot less disruptive to your business if your working patterns have changed.

And of course, with winter fast approaching making upgrades now could slash your heating bills this winter.
